此專輯是為了慶祝2021年6月5日鋼琴女王阿格麗希的80歲生日，而使用完使母帶以最新192kHz/24-bit技術處理後重新發行。


英國《留聲機》曾經以「她著名的鋼琴演奏技巧，火花四射又如液體般自由流動的精湛技藝，以及富有想像力的獨特詮釋，無疑讓她成為有史以來最偉大的鋼琴家之一」來形容阿根廷鋼琴家阿格麗希。而阿格麗希獨樹一格的音樂風格更為她的演奏藝術增添魅力與神祕性。

阿格麗希1941年出生於阿根廷布宜諾斯艾利斯並在當地成長，八歲首次與管弦樂團合作演出，1955年移居歐洲，並在維也納、日內瓦師從古爾達、李帕第夫人與馬加洛夫。1957年獲得義大利波札諾與日內瓦國際鋼琴大賽首獎後，阿格麗希的國際事業也開始起飛，但是她在1960年暫別舞台，直到1965年因贏得華沙蕭邦國際鋼琴大賽重新得到世界樂壇的注意。當時評審之一的尤金‧李斯特以「火山」來形容二十四歲的阿格麗希。從此以後，阿格麗希開始忙碌的演出行程，而她的演出又以室內樂與協奏曲為重心。

1965年，阿格麗希在第七屆華沙蕭邦鋼琴大賽中拿下第一名沒有多久，在EMI錄下這張唱片，由名製作人格魯伯操刀。格魯伯形容：「阿格麗希是我們所遇過最讓人驚嘆的演奏者⋯⋯沒有這女人辦不到的事。」不過，由於阿格麗希與DG簽下專屬合約，因此這次的錄音只在三十四年後，也就是1999年出版過CD。
